Step 1 – Design & Engineering

After product specifications and requirements have been made available by the buyer, we will design the carton and tray in accordance with child safety and senior friendly requirements. Preliminary drawings of carton die-lines and the tray will be provided to the buyer for approval.

Lead time shall be approximately 2 weeks.

In case the buyer wishes to change the drawings, step 1 will be repeated using the new input of the customer. The price indicated on our quote form is the price per set of drawings.

Step 2 – Prototyping

Upon receipt of written approval of the preliminary drawings from the buyer, 10 prototypes will be produced of both the carton and tray. These prototypes will be provided to the buyer for approval (5 prototypes to be signed and returned).

Lead time shall be approximately 4 weeks.

In case the buyer wishes to change the prototypes, Steps 1 and 2 will be repeated using the new input of the customer. The price indicated on our quote form is the price per set of prototypes.

Step 3 – Permanent Tooling

The cost for a permanent tool is $4,000.00 to $6,000.00.

When the permanent tooling is complete, we can begin production of boxes. The last upfront cost is a one-time $1,000.00 box-cutting tool.

Once you pay for the prototyping and permanent tools, the size is yours. You own it and no one else will have access to it. (Unless you don’t necessarily want an exclusive with the design, we can show others and if they want access, they would pay a portion of the tooling cost back to you.)

Lead time shall be approximately 4-6 weeks.

Step 4 – Production

With approval and permanent tooling in the works, we’re ready for printing, and then to send your custom trays to production.

Cartons print in 10-14 days and trays are typically produced in 4-5 weeks.
